Show off your retro gaming style with these Nintendo-themed Vans

Vans will be releasing a line of Nintendo-themed shoes this June and they couldn’t look more awesome. The shoe designs pay homage to Nintendo’s most memorable franchises from Super Mario Bros., to the Legend of Zelda, and even Duck Hunt.

Vans, along with Converse, has a rich history of putting out themed versions of their iconic shoes. Other series includes Star Wars, Disney Princess, and even a series based off of tacos. When choosing collaborators, Vans must take cultural relevance into consideration so it is great to see them working with Nintendo. I have never owned a pair of Vans and I never thought I would, but it is going to be very hard for me to resist buying The Legend of Zelda ones. Check out all the released designs below.

This collaboration is indicative of gaming finally garnering widespread recognition in pop culture. Though a commercial flop, the Ratchet & Clank movie is the best bridge between a film and a video game the world has ever seen. And the thrilling amusement park ride based on the Mass Effect series now has an opening date. The era of being a closeted gamer may be finally coming to a close.
