Telltale Confirms The Walking Dead Season 3

In an interview with Mashable, Telltale confirmed that The Walking Dead Season Three will premier this year. This is exciting news indeed for fans of the series. Even though Season 2 had a great sense of closure (no matter the conclusion of your playthrough with Clementine), there were so many different possibilities that you can’t help but ponder how Season 3 will begin.

Well, while not giving away any specific details, CEO Kevin Bruner did admit that the team is handling the narrative in such a way to validate all those personal playthroughs and is, in doing so, creating a very innovative story structure. Considering the powerful and already unique storytelling of the first two seasons, it will be interesting to see the special touches put on Season 3 to prove this claim. He also stated that Season 3 will allow “people who maybe haven’t people [the first two seasons] to come in and get up to speed really quickly. But it definitely respects, honors, and facilitates all of the various end points that Season Two had.” It’s a nice gesture on his part, but look up the reviews on the first and second and just make sure you’re not doing yourself a disservice by skipping out on them.

With all that said, Bruner also talked about a solution for the lack of cloud save services in Season One. This solution will hopefully help Season Three players of The Walking Dead retrieve their data. However, no specifics were given on what the actual solution was. We can only hope that more information on this solution will be released with all the announcements that Telltale’s saving up for 2016’s Comic-Con in San Diego.
